I saw something that's unrelated to my question. Can you explain what it means when Harlan wants his students shoot 100% high? Thanks
It’s related to POI or Point of Impact. He wants all of the pellets and pattern above the bead of your gun. He shoots high gun, eyes up. By High gun I mean he wants your barrel to be held parallel with the station’s concrete. Luckily my gun was already 100% high he just fixed my eye hold and everything clicked from there.

One eyed shooters I think would be a problem using Harlan's theory.

I am 79 y.o. and have shot league trap for a couple of years. Our little club in WI got Nora Ross the last two Septembers for a one day group lesson because she and her husband hunt grouse in WI. I took both and would say applying what she taught brought me from a 20+ to a 23+ 16 yard average. She is a terrific teacher and I would highly recommend her. They winter at Silver Dollar in FL and she does offer group and private lessons.

My wife and I are looking to take private trap shooting lessons in North/South Carolina, Georgia or Florida area in the beginning of 2022. I'm a intermediate shooter and she's a beginner. Does anyone have any suggestions ?
If you plan on being in Florida this winter and are interested in taking lessons from Nora Martin Ross, you could call the number on her website.

It ain’t about weed or whiskey. It is about a gun that patterns 10-15 inches high at 32 yards. ( or higher ).

If you are serious, my suggestions would be;
1) Find the best gun you can afford
2) Have the guns fitted for both of you (the most important aspect of this game) by someone that actually knows what they are doing.
3) At home practice stance and gun mount in front of a tall mirror, get comfortable with your guns
4) Go to your local gun club and you can tell who the good shooters are, ask one of them for some pointers on what to do. After you are familiarized with your guns and the game then book your lesson with Pro's
Good Luck!

I've been shooting ATA since 2008. Before that I was a serious club trap shooter since the late 80's.
When I first started shooting ATA I took several Lessons from Mike Blaisdell. (see link to his website)
Mike is a protege of Kay Ohye and has help me tremendously throughout my ATA competitions.
He has come down to my club in CT several times to put on small clinics of usually 5 students per class.
If your a new or intermediate shooter, I would highly recommend him.
He has helped me make my state team in 2020 and helped me attain many of my goals as a competitive trap shooter.
Mike will be down at the Silver Dollar in Florida for the month of the Spring Grand.

Mike offers private lessons and 2-day clinics for groups.
These lessons are taught at the Cheshire County Fish and Game Club in Sullivan, NH.
He will also travel to your club for mutiple student classes.
Two-Day Clinics: $350 per person (5-10 person groups)
I have taken Harlan Campbell's 2 day course and for a new shooter you might be a bit overwhelmed at all of the information that you get on the first day.
I know I was.
Although I did get a lot out of his course.
I did not stick with his 100% style of gun set up.
My belief is that you take as many courses as you can from different, well established instructors as you can.
As I have heard on this forum there will be many shooters will to give you advise but look at your instructors shooting records to judge wether or not they will be a good fit for you.
My duo centavos
Good luck with your shooting!

+1 more for Nora Ross. Have been wanting to take a clinic for several years, and had the opportunity to take Nora Ross's 2-day Clinic. Top Notch Clinic. She had been recommended as I am a one-eyed shooter, and most in her class were also one-eyed shooters. Many top performers may be great at their craft, but have difficulty teaching the skills. Nora was excellent, and I learned a lot from her clinic. Lanny Bassham says that a good coach saves an athlete time. This is exactly the benefit of the clinic. She reviewed things I had already learned, BUT also identified many shooting tips and tricks that I hadn't figured out yet. She explained the game in a simple, easy-to-understand manner for everyone.

A husband and wife took the course, she for the first day on singles. Nora made a couple quick corrections and adjustments, and you could see it come together for her.

She is an excellent teacher, runs an excellent clinic, is very personable, and explains things very well. Highly recommend !

I am trying to sponsor Nora Ross for our club, as everyone that has attended her clinics can't say enough good things about her teaching methods and down to earth style. I think she has won more championship trap events and has a serious collection of championship rings to prove it and of course is in the ATA Trapshooters Hall of Fame. Another excellent teacher and writer is Dan Schindler (Level III instructor) of Paragon School of Sporting in N.C. that offers private lessons for all shotgun disciplines.
