I have a field model 28" Wingmaster that I would like to convert to a backup trap gun. A longer barrel would be nice obviously, but what different brands of Monte Carlo stocks or add-a-rib options have you had success with? Please and thank you! looking to get an 80/20 POI...

Neither an expert here too but I do understand the comb and POI relationship. You could just add on an adjustable comb. Have the stock smith set it up so comb is parallel to the rib. But if you like the looks of the monte carlo stock then...
I would try and find a monte carlo stock with an adjustable comb first since 80/20 is rather high POI.
I would forget about add on ribs for now. If you raise height of front bead you lower the POI.

This is probably the easiest way to start if it's going to be a backup gun.
It's a straight trap stock and long forend. It will get the POI up for most people without the need for a replacement barrel for casual use.

For my A5 field gun I added a 1/4 in h Cheek-eze foam pad. It saw me to my state hdcp championship and both 100 straights.

I am playing with an 870 this summer. A Boyd's thumbhole stock gives me the high pattern I want at less then getting an adjustable comb.

Watch (fle)e-bay I have an almost perfect 30" full choke barrel that I cannot believe my bid won.

Daro Handy is an advocate of modifying a Remington field stock by adding an adjustable comb with a “tapered” comb piece to make the comb parallel to the barrel. This modification allows full contact of the recoil pad on your shoulder yet having a parallel comb. It’s a great idea and it has worked well for him on his 1100.
