I’m sure this has been hashed about here before but with new products always arriving I don’t want to miss anything. So my Citori isn’t horrible and I’m fairly recoil resistant but noticed it more yesterday than ever before. It’s a new CX with an Allums adjustable comb. I love this gun and shot probably my best round of SC ever with it yesterday. What are my options?

Might want to try one of these. I have installed one in the stock on my Citori XT trap gun. Slides right in the hole for removing the stock from the action.

Little B, did this add any weight? I don’t really want to make the gun any heavier.

I put the same mercury reducer in my CX that Swampy16 did and I preferred the gun after it was installed. The CX was a little barrel heavy (mine had 32” barrels), so the reducer just made it a little more lively. Like he said, also- you can put it in your gun, if you don’t like it- take it out, it’s as simple as taking the recoil pad off and taking it in or out.

I didn't notice recoil much until I bought a stock with a recoil device in it.
It's the one with hydraulic cylinder, it made the 12 gauge shoots like 28 gauge.

Once I felt that, there's no turning back, regardless if recoil bothers me or not, there's no reason to take any kick when a recoil device is easily available.
The only "problem" is, there're stocks just too pretty to cut, so I have man up when I shoot those guns.

The amount of time it takes for the stock to expand back to its normal length, If I’m feeling good and shooting quick I had a browning that sometimes wouldn’t be completely reset by the time I pulled a second shot off, I have owned counter coils, Rad’s and soft touch, I like my soft touch the best, But the truth is I have not used any of them for the last 20 years, I found for me anyway that a shotgun with more pitch, Fit me better and reduce recoil

That would not be true for everybody.

Very True, just my experience and opinion, it’s worth exactly what you paid for it, The two hardest things about shotgun shooting in my opinion, is that until you get a gun that fits you,,you really don’t have any idea how a shotgun is supposed to work, and after you learn the basics you’re on your own to find out what works for you.

Try lighter loads. Probably have to be more specific as to what you were noticing.

First off, sporting clays stocks are slanted down the most. CX guns are an in between comb of a parallel comb. Have someone video with a phone how the gun is reacting on recoil, first. Then usually you can come up with a solution.

Mechanical recoil reducers reduce force on your shoulder, but more gun movement can add to the force on your cheek if the comb is not integrated. Even so, the slant adds to the more direct force on your cheek.
