Bought this for inside the club when its freezing outside and the outside racks are full of snow. Bought it on this site for $100. works great for traveling to keep my guns close. View attachment 1942508
Looks like you can easily set the guns in without having the actions open. Look at the angle of the upper supports, seems more lined up for closed actions, pumps & semi-auto guns.

Works both ways open or closed can turn the gun around and the forearm rests in the wide top rubber rest. folds up for easy haling to other shoots .

We are building a new small range here in northeastern Nova Scotia in conjunction with our local Department of Natural Resources. Crown land and lots of rules. They are insisting that all guns placed in a rack will need to be open and flagged if appropriate. No one here has much experience with an open action on an over/under. DNR sent the attached image but not sure how good this is for the gun itself. Anybody have thoughts, ideas or good plans? View attachment 1939905
Looks like an accident waiting to happen. How many banged up stocks does this promote

Reminds me of the legislator who, in a typical fog based panic propose a seat belt law for motorcycles.
Just another brain dead bed wetting liberal.

HM
That was Joan Claybrook, the NHTSA chief during the Carter years. Her administration also proposed a motorcycle with a full roll cage, outriggers and rear steering. It also had a pressure switch under the seat that would kill the engine if the rider wasn't on it! There is a hilarious article in one of the motorcycle magazines about it having something to do with a dead dog! Worth reading! It's funny as hell.

It seems the writer was testing the "safety" motorcycle in the desert country of New Mexico. He was tooling down the road and swerved to miss a dead dog. He lost control of the rear steering motorcycle and ended up in a sandy ditch. There was no way he could ride that thing up the steep banks of the ditch.
He thought about putting it in gear and running beside it like many of us dirt bike riders have, but the pressure kill switch under the seat prevented that idea.
Suddenly, brainstorm! He wondered if the dead dog was heavy enough to close the kill switch. He got the expired pooch buckled in and hit the starter. Success! He put the bike in gear and started pushing it up the bank. Just as he got to the top, he lost his footing and tripped and fell. The last thing he saw was the contraption and the dead dog heading down the road.

Looks like something off the set of rust.

It looks like the barrels will be pointing at everyone's head that approaches the rack.
This was before the backstop was painted. Barrels point straight up. I guess if you were tall enough it might point at your head, if you leaned over and banged into the back, otherwise it is pretty difficult to get that close.

I mock this observation and your post. Openly so.
