I'm not a likely buyer, mostly because I'm a reloader, and a one piece hull is probably structurally superior for repeated use, and definitely easier to source a workable powder/wad combo for. And I probably worry about shot quality more than I ought.

That said, I see a fair number of AA, and some STS/Nitro/HOA in the trash. This shell should sell for a buck or so less than those, and so there are some shooters who should probably consider it. In particular, should be a good short yardage caps and second shot doubles option.

From what I heard on Trap Talk's Shot Show episode, it's an HOA-quality load with a disposable hull, meant for Sporting Clays shooters that throw them in the bucket at the end of the station.

Just heard of the new loads that Federal Ammunition is offering. For now it is obviously aimed toward the sporting clay crowd, but does offer some that would be a good handicap load. It is supposed to be an intermediate shell between the top gun and the HOA, really sounds like another Federal Grand, as supposedly the only difference between it and the HOA is that the Masterclass uses a brass washed head vs. The HOA's true brass head, even though we all know that the shot in an HOA really isn't very premium thanks to Tim's great testing.

The white Gold Medal Grands have been my favorite federal straight walled hulls to reload for hunting loads. Gold and Dark green Rem sts/nitros are my preferred target hull to reload.

I’m excited to buy a few cases, shoot them at the sporting clays course, and reuse for hunting loads
