I am looking for input as to what number hanger people use for shooting sporting clays. I patterned my lower barrel and found it to be shooting much higher than the top barrel, also I could not find any number on the hanger to use as a starting point for lowering the POI of the bottom barrel. Any advice would be appreciated.

Many times, even on new guns, The number is on the back. The standard for most Sporting clays guns is a "4". For every number larger than that the POI is approximately 2 inches. I shoot a number "6" on one barrel and a "5" on another. They both shoot approximately a 60/40 pattern. The only real test is at the pattern board. Krieghoff will exchange hangers for around $20.00. They will charge you $120 until they receive your hanger. I have done this several times and am highly satisfied with the results.

A couple of months ago, I switched back from a Perazzi to a K80 Sporter 32" and had the same problem. It had the #5 hanger and I had to go to a #7 to get them both on the same spot. I check Sporting Clays guns at 20 yards from a bench.

#5, bottom barrel.

Now this is the bottom with the #7 hanger. Afterwards, I adjusted POI to 60/40.

I would take a micrometer and measure it. The give Krieghoff in Ottsville a call. They will help you. Sounds like you have an old hanger from a K32. They didn't mark them. They are still changeable though. Again Krieghoff will help. They are good people. I would wait until next week as they are in Sparta right now.

You need to wait until the Grand is done to call Krieghoff. Elmer Bonn is the parts department guru and he's at the Grand and there isn't anyone to asnwer your question at Krieghoff at the moment.

Ditto my experience. I've needed to go up 1 or 2 sizes on most of the K-80 barrels I've owned to get them both printing to the same POI. I test/confirm at 30 yards and use at least Mod chokes.
