I have a Hornady 500 grain balance beam scale with the powder pan missing. I called Hornady but they no longer can supply parts for this model. It has the Pacific name cast into the body of the scale with an "M" below that. Does anyone have a pan or suggest a place to find one?

You are missing the pan, the wire hoop that holds the pan, a small wire ring that the pan loop fits in and a black pin that goes through the both holes in the adjustment arm and beam. The end part in the second picture is actually supposed to be pointing horizontally to the right. It is held in place by the black pin that holds a small black wire hoop.

You might check with Lee Precision. they have a balance beam scale but I don't know if they sell the little tray separately.

Or, MidwayUSA sells a Frankford Arsenal electronic scale for about $30. It works for me.

Like stated above, you are missing more than just the pan. You need the little wire basket thingy that holds the pan as well. Of course, the wire thing could easily be fashioned from a coat hanger. The powder pan for the Hornady is not a unique design. I have seen the same pan used on several others including my Hornady digital. Any little light weight aluminum pan would work and then just bend a wire coat hanger to hold it.

Here is what you are missing as shown on my Pacific M model scale.

That photo is a big help. I just looked on Midway and see that Hornady does offer a scale similar to this one. I am going to call Hornady to find out how much those parts would cost. I suspect I may have to add or remove weight to get it to zero out when empty.
Thanks for the comments.
