Anyone have a recommendation for a good gun grease? I’ve tried several but not real happy. They’ve either too thick and won’t spread or they “run off” when hot.
The pivot away from China has begun! The North Koreans' military equipment has been in service since the 1950s, which proves how good BiStar grease actually is.Recently promoted Far East Regional Sales Manager, our own forum member @Jaburg1 has sourced a spectacular new grease product soon to be available on the Bi-Star website.

If you even knew how low quality that stuff actually is. (I worked there for over a decade). I certainly wouldn't be using it on a nice shotgun. Just sayin. I'm new around here though and my word probably doesn't hold any weight, but skimping on lubrication is just never a wise idea. I actually helped develop the gun specific oil during my time there. I'll also say what we developed then is NOT the same product they're selling now. Lucas brand has gone severly downhill in recent years as the never worked a day in his life son took over and is cutting every corner possible. Anyhow... don't say I didn't tell ya so.Buy a jar of Lucas Red N Tacky for $10 and you’ll have gun grease for years. It is obviously red which is easy to see application and it has perfect consistency that won’t melt / drip in hot weather. Been using for years.
Thanks - just ordered some |
I loved Krieghoff gun glide, but cant find it anymore I guess they quit making it. Bought a tube of Lucas gun grease and so far its ok, will have to see how it works in summer heat
I've heard, but can't verify, that this is the grease Krieghoff currently sells under the Gun Glide name.I just bought a tube from Krieghoff; their newest version is green in color. Works great for me.

I’m looking to get in on this ASAP! But I can’t find BiStar on the Turkish or Chinese Stock exchange!! Next stop my local Chinese Buffet, that looks very familiar……..Recently promoted Far East Regional Sales Manager, our own forum member @Jaburg1 has sourced a spectacular new grease product soon to be available on the Bi-Star website.
