I purchased a Browning 725 (New) three weeks ago and love it. I put around 600 rounds through it and on my last round the gun felt loose. I looked down and the stock around the palm swell split. I hope I can get more than 3 weeks out of a gun. Anyone else have a problem with browning stocks breaking? Any idea how long it takes to get a broken gun back from Browning? Is Browning a good company to deal with. I am just going to throw all of my questions out at once. I have never shot ATA before and want to start. Would I be ahead shooting my Browning sporting for trap, skeet and sporting or would I be ahead getting a Trap specific gun for ATA?

If you're looking for a great stocksmith with extraordinary skills check out elite custom gunstocks. Al Braner is a true craftsman. He repaired a stock for me that had split due to dropping it. The repair is virtually unnoticeable and seems to be stronger than before. I've run 1,000+ rounds through it and it is ultra solid.

He was able to turn it around in 5 days. Located in Illnois and Al does work for people from around the U.S. He has worked on every type of gun from browning to holland and holland.

Look troydavid1968, Your gun is brand new, call your dealer and see if he will simply give you a different new gun. If not call browning and send it back and get a brand new stock. Its worth the wait. You already posted you have a backup browning to use until you get it back. Good Luck and break em all. Jeff

I would too, but after it's out of warranty. If you do that with a new gun, you have voided the warranty. Browning is slow, but very fair. The larger the gun company, expect warranty claims to be handled less immediate. Sure, Kolar has incredible customer service, but they don't even produce 500 guns a year. How many does Browning produce? Hundreds of thousands perhaps?

Be VERY sure that the gun is AS SHIPPED by Browning. ANY aftermarket work will get you a return untouched from them. That may take a month or so. I know!!!! First Hand!!!! Call them first and explain what has happened. Get a return authorization from them and stress that this is a competition gun and you need it right away. Can't hurt.

No issue with my 725 (Sporting, Trap Combo), XT, or BT99; however, I would suggest you contact an authorized Browning gunsmith who should be able to do the warranty work (if under warranty) and get it back to you sooner. Then again if the parts have to come from Browning then the gunsmith may have to wait also....

Per My call to Browning, any stock work or forend work had to be sent to them. The authorized repair centers are not supposed to do those repairs for some reason. That's the only reason I haven't sent my cracked forend in yet. The super glue is holding up fine so far for the last 3000 rds
