I ordered my presses direct from MEC. You pay straight list price with them but they seem to get orders out pretty quick. Obviously, if you can get a lower price at a distributor, that is great as long as they have it in stock. You never know with backorders, how long it will take.

Actually it shows to be out of stock. I talked to Mec a couple of months ago and getting a simple electronic component has been holding up shipping for quite some time. The only way to find one now is on the used market.

CAC should be best price. I bought Mec parts from them cheaper than Mec prices.

Ah...glad you brought that up. I was thinking alone those lines but having no real knowledge or experience using an automate not sure how difficult to switch loaders. That's why I thinking about two automates and two conversion kits, cut switching time in half. But your saying not necessary? Jim
Edit: My budget will stand a good used Spolar with sub gauges, but can't find one so looking to upgrade my four Mec's.

 

Yes if you have the kits you can switch the automate just make sure you order 8657 kits

 

I think there's also a heavier column spring that is recommended when you do the conversion.

 

You don’t need that spring for Automate. It’s really for hydraulic. I ran 4 presses on automate, none had upgraded springs.

The heavy duty spring is part MEC #1008683.

 

I bought mine from Gamaliel back in the day when Gamaliel was the bast damn store around! Give them a call. I called a few months ago, Curly had their number. They didn’t have any then, but might now!

 

Yes that's right I brought extra spring from CAC that is the correct part number

i got mine from titan last year, lowest price and free shipping. and the coversion kit was included, and the original spring on my 9000 is weak, so i put a little mini bungee on my press to pull it up a bit
