I have seen a 682 stock used on a 692. Wood was removed.
I expect you could make the 692 wood fit the 682 with some epoxy etc.

Alright. I just found a really nice 692 stock set for 699 and figured I'd ask. That's in my price range

 

Bottom line, no it will not fit without modifications and then,end results most likely will not be satisfactory.

 

check out Coles gunsmithing for 68X wood sets....not sure what you want to pay, no matter what you buy even if off another 686 you may need to do some fitting

This is to match up with the higher add-a-rib, correct? Is there a reason you don't want to just have an adjustable comb installed to raise the comb on your existing stock?
