I’m not sure I get your point. I never mentioned the web site. That disclaimer sure wasn’t on my email. Remember, this was just a friendly warning.
The disclosure was definitely in their email, right under the free shipping offer. Grafs and the owners are top notch. I've purchased from them many times in the past and had nothing but great experiences. Here's a screenshot of their email below with the exclusions clearly listed. I'm sure it was just an oversight, but it was clearly listed.

Worse is Bud's Gun Shop, who usually have the best prices on shot hells claim they cannot ship ammo to Washington state because of our laws prohibiting it, which is totally false. I checked all the laws and called my FFA, who also debunked that false impression. The Washington law basically says, it is unlawful to sell high capacity clips in Washington and ammo without a FFA license. I tired to explain this to them, but they don't want to listen. They must have been burned by Washington in some way, or they did something stupid and Washington banned them from shipping here - my guess. I know they ar smart people and can read the law as well as I can, so I am baffled at to their refusal to even investigate and correct their shipping terms. I used to order from them all the time and get shipped. So, I now order ammo from half dozen other sellers around the country when they have my preferred ammo and they have no issue shipping to Washington because the know the law here. Wake up Bud's...

I appreciate the heads up involving shipping information. In the future I will double check email adds involving ammo shipments. Thanks for sharing your experience regarding this issue.

Some businesses don't want to deal with the laws they perceive as anti gun. It's their choice.

That seems to be a reoccurring issue. I just purchased two flats of Remington Gun Club 12ga @$80 with free shipping with orders $99+. Their selection and sales are good, but sometimes out-of-stock for short periods.

I got an email from Graf and Sons for free freight so I figured I'd buy some shotgun shells. I ordered 5 flats and when I got to checkout, this is what I found:

Customer is responsible for Full freight on orders for Target Loads (trap, skeet & sporting clay ammo sold by the case.) Please note that freight can range between $30-$40 per case depending on weight and shipping destination.

And they won't process the order until you sign this:

I agree that full freight will be added to my order after it is placed. (required)

It's their company and they can do what they want. I just wanted everyone here to be aware that free freight to Graf and Sons has different meanings depending on what you order.

Yes, Midway did the same to me. I'm very aware that it's their company and they can do as they wish, but I view it as dishonest bait and switch advertising. They sucker you in, then change the terms.

I don't do business like that and cancelled my order. When they advertise it as free, then by golly it should be free.

I really don't understand the point of this thread. It appears that Graff and Sons are truthfully disclosing their shipping policy upfront. So, what's the beef? Are people to stupid to read a clear cut policy and understand i?.
The point is that they catch your eye with the bold letters implying one thing, then have the weasel words in very small type, that you don't readily see, pulling the sucker switch on you.

By the time I get the shipping and hazmat fee on the order it's cheaper to buy it locally, tax included.

It's become common practice now for many businesses to offer a carrot in big bold print and then to have exceptions/exclusions in fine print where the shopper has to use a magnifying glass to see it. It's intentional and meant to deceive.
Everything you just said I agree with. So, I purchase locally instead. The shipping and haxmat fees negate any perceived savings anyway.

You poor thing, you. Smart people read the entire ad to make sure they understand the deal. But, I will agree on one thing with you, that you believe their ad was designed with guys like you in mind.
