AZ Members,

I know that this is not a shotgun question, but....

I just acquired a new S&W 686-6 and want to have a nice trigger job done on it but do not want to have to ship it out of state of AZ. Do any of you know and have experience with a GOOD S&W revolver gunsmith is AZ? I live in SE AZ. Thank you.

GW,
get the Gerry Miculic Video CD from Midway USA and view it yourself.
There are two. The basic how to disassemble a S&W, and a longer one on some of his more advanced tips.
The work required is well with in the scope of a careful person who knows tools.
Buy a good set of screw driver bits and one or two speciality tools and you can service a lifetimes worth of your Revolvers made in Springfield.
He details the fine points of shooting a revolver action and covers the trigger quite thoroughly.

No shipping of your wheel gun required.

Title of video is trigger job.

Best way to smooth the action (which is unnecessary) of any revolver is to dry fire and use live ammo at the range,me specially if we are talking a service weapon. People often mistake the 13 lb trigger pull as a need for smooth an action, it's not. The trigger finger needs exercise and strength build up. The is a reason gun manufactuers out a heavier pull weight on a revolver.

Frank Glenn (just north of Shea off the 51) was not taking new work last fall related to a medical issue. Have not inquired in 2016. Please let us know what you find out.

Buster,
I take it your not a fan of this video?
If you have actually seen it and this is so, fine.
But I suspect your comment is based on not watching it.
It explains the action, timing, and how the trigger works which alone is worth viewing it for an owner of a Smith.
It also will give you what to ask a gunsmith for rather than being snowed by BS if you go that route.
19 bucks well spent if you have a revolver made in Springfield. Its filmed by a really nice guy who can run one as fast as I have ever seen.
Im pretty sure he knows what he's talking about.
