I personally don't need a video, When I was growing up I watched my grandfather taking care of sheep on the farm in New Mexico. They didn't bite them off, just severed the tubes.is there a video of an aussie doing that?
Is this the landlocked folk's version of fresh oysters, straight from the shell?
These castration stories bring back a good old memory. Back when my grandparents had cattle, the neighbor would come down and help castrate. Afterwards they'd fry up some rock mountain oysters. Well one day Ben and grandpa were at a rodeo steer wrestling, when one of the younger guys, Glenn, offered to help out with an old nasty steer. Grandpa said come on over, so Glenn comes on over the next day. Long story short, they got the steer on its side, and grandpa goes in with the sheers and right after he cuts them off, gets kicked in the leg. Bens on the other side holding the sucker down, and just as the oysters hit the ground, he swoops down, picks them up, and grabs them with his teeth. Well that was a little much for old Glenn McCulum, he just got right up and headed around the edge of the barn. Some just aren't cut out for farm work. LOLI watched some videos on this biting-castration method after Murph mentioned it. I'm trying to figure out why they don't just grab em with their hands. The videos I saw had em popped right out there to get a hold of. There's gotta be a reason they use their teeth. Murph?
Liberal commies over here passed a rule, that prevents a Vet from doing it, if he/she is caught, the lose their licence to practice. The vet charges $10 around here.
I agree. Just take them to a vet when they are 3-5 days old and get the tails docked and dew claws removed. Have it done correctly the first time. What's the matter with using a Vet?? Maybe you should dock your own tail with a rubber band.
