I picked up two flats of these Peter’s target loads from a guy that doesn’t shoot anymore.

They are blue hulls and brass heads. Thought they were newer shells but appear to possibly be older.

He said they were stored indoors. 1 flat of one once loads, 1 flat of 1 1/8 once loads.

Think they’re safe to shoot? Thank you

Husky44,
These were made: LCA22L507 - February 22, 1989 and AA08C506 - May 8, 1984. As long as there is no rust around the primers (showing excess moisture exposure - which the cases do not) there is nothing wrong with them. Nice doubles combo loads.

These were Remington's price leader sold through none traditional outlets along with traditional one's who wanted lower priced shell. They are a great shell to shoot and as mentioned load very well, they really are a Blue Magic in disguise. If it were me I'd shoot them.

Since they are at least 25+ years old I would keep them as is, would not shoot them.
They are/will be collectors items.
Some of us like collecting older shooting related itmes.
I have an empty flat box from that time frame, shot a lot of them in the 80's, they are a good shell.

You can't call them bullets. Didn't you read the pet peeves thread? The Turkish shotgun shooters will hate on you for calling them bullets. No 7.5 or 8 bb's either.....

A collector's item? How much are you paying? I'll take $25 a box for all I have. They are not that old. Everything will get older everyday, that doesn't make it collectible. If some wants them to keep, they may be collectible, if someone wants to shoot them, they are shooters. Unless I get some pretty good offers, I am going to shoot mine. To each his own.

I'm going to shoot the spare box of one once target loads tomorrow.
I'll decide after if I'll shoot the rest. The flats are still un-opened.
I'm not going to live long enough to see collector status, just need cheap shells to shoot.

Thanks

I loved those shells. That's what I was shooting when I sold my comp 1 and bought a bass boat and started tournament fishing. I had one box left and it sits right here beside me in my book case. Printed on the box is" New 209 primer" I also have the tin promotional poster of a Black Lab holding a box in his mouth on my wall. They were a good shooting shell.

Shoot well,
Steve
