Looking for information on the Youth Shoot held at Doniphan Nebraska.
I under stand that it is sponcered by the Neb Conservation Dept. Do other state teams attend? Are there camping/vendor spaces available?
Thanks

Stuart,
The Cornhusker High School shoot is sponsored by the Nebraska Game and Parks and the Nebraska Trapshooters Association. The shoot will be held April 30 thru May 2.
For camper space requests, send an email to Marilyn Behrens ([email protected]). For a vendor space request email Dave Kennedy ([email protected]). you may also be able to use the vendor space for your camper.

for what its worth - this highschool shoot even tho it is not a registered shoot, it is the BEST run kids event you will ever attend!!! family oriented, you'll see ever size and shape from the econo type participant to those kids you'll see someday as all americans. where can you have 1200+ kids attend, shoot 100 rocks/day on 24 or 26 traps and be in the shoot offs by 6pm, trophies and awards complete by 7:30pm- and EVERYONE who attends or works the shoot has a priority of making the youth shooters feel at home- see you there

According to the state web site, we had 1685 shooters in 2008, and expect 1725 shooters in 2009. Mash on the link above and you can find most everything. We usually have 500 shooters in the 7 and 8th grades (Thursday) and the rest are there for Friday and Saturday. Bellevue NE trapshooting team lost 2 16 year olds who lost control of their car and hit a tree. The car exploded into flames, but they think the boys were already dead. Bellevue team is in a little shock at this time.

There are 3 Grand Island Nebraska exits from Interstate 80. Doniphan is 4 miles south of I80 at the west exit. You are only 150 miles west of Omaha. We have vendors (like Merlyn, Downrange, SKB, and Guns Unlimited, Moneymaker, and a few gun smiths)and plenty of guns for sale. We get a number of high school shooters from other states who want the experience of shooting with some serious high school trappers. Motels, food, and another range, http://www.heartlandpublicshootingpark.com/ are close by. Some nights we tune kids guns at Heartland for the next days event. Memories are priceless. Will be there again this year, as I wouldn't miss it. Hope to see you there. Omaha
