Does anybody know whether lead shielding from an x ray room would have any sort of contamination
Ie, could it be used to make shot without any hazards??

I'm a registered Radiologic Technologist. Depends on the type of X-ray room. If its a regular X-ray room, no problem. No residual radiation. If it's a Nuclear Medicine room, I'd pass on it. Maybe no problem, but maybe....

Most blocks of lead some from Nuc Med rooms. X-ray room lead is usually in the form of a thin sheet faced with sheetrock material. Also, be careful that it is truly lead. Some alloys are starting to be used.

I'd worry about lead contamination. I hear that stuff has lots of lead in it, which is likely known to the state of california to be hazardous to pregnant or lactating women, children, and lab rats. It can also cause birth defects and mentally challenged posters on TS.com
