Today at Fennville Rod & Gun Club we had 2 50 bird draw Calcutta's the weather was cold and snowy but little wind targets were hard to see but you wouldn't know it by the good scores today, protections started at 10 am and the sign up for the Calcutta at noon with lunch being served today was 2 kinds of chili with fixins or biscuits and gravy or both plus desserts ,A big thanks goes out to Bre Leeuw & Joey Kiss for doing such great trapping for us in these less than ideal conditions and also to all the help at FR&GC for another great shoot ...now a few pics...
As you can see no shortage of snow but it still didn't keep the diehards away from shooting with full squads going on 2 traps
Plenty of activity in the clubhouse between rounds with the woodstove cranked up made for a real nice place to hangout and get warmed up and tell some trapshooting excuses to your buddies why you were missing today ,I grabbed the wrong hat today ,wrong gloves, wrong glasses,my red sock is on my right foot instead of my left you know what I mean we have all heard it before ..
Trapshooting in this kind of weather is not for Sissy's as we all know , hmm I wonder where Daddy Ski and Matty were at today and all the stepsons party at Ricks house I guess !!
Trapshooting Legend & Hall of Famer George Snellenbeger wasn't being a sissy he showed up to shoot today and of course he didn't miss the rummy game..
Even Randy Hook and Gary Metheny made it today there on the backside of this snow pile with their sleds but it was to cold outside for me to wait for them to climb to the top so I could get a pic so I guess you ill have to take my word for it Haha ..now the first Calcutta board...
In the first Calcutta we had 3 squads for 15 teams
And in first place at 48 we had 3 teams tied and Big Steve & Harry Lausman won in the shootoff..
