Here in Iowa winter meat shoots are a long tradition but fewer clubs do this anymore.
Pies are also popular in other parts of the country.

We give meat such as Chops, Steaks, Bacon, Ribs, Roasts, wild game sausage, etc and cash if they prefer. We do it year round. Most shooters take meat over cash. We have a member with a meat shop who does the cutting and bagging of the meat. We buy it at cash and carry and meat packers in loins and bacon slabs etc. We also have a professional vacuum sealer

We just had our first "winter coat" shoot. Top prize a 80.00 jacket, second 50 and third 40. Had them nicely embroidered with club logo and "champion" winter shoot. They were well recieved.
