I have been shooting my Model 1400 for a few years now in Sporting Clays without problems - until yesterday.
The gun did not fire, and the bolt could not be locked in the open breech position.
I have been reading up on problems on many sites, but have not found one describing the problem.
I did find a post which indicated that there could be problems with the firing pin becoming detached and breaking.
I have a Schematic, the Manual, and videos describing stripping and reassembly, but wht I have not found is a description of how the gun works in relation to details.

Can anyone advise me of the possible problem and a solution.

I have previously stripped it for cleaning but I do not want to dismantle it until i have a few clues.

All suggestions are welcome.

I'd do what SMS suggests when it comes to the Winchester 1400s and a fix!! repeteclay has used these guns for many many years and has broken a ton of great scores with his! MANY 200s and 199s which are too many to even mention!!

He's a great guy and always willing to help!!

Thank you for the suggestion

I am new to the forum, and do not know how to contact "repeteclay"

Could you please advise how, or bring this thread to "repeteclay"s attention.

Semi autos are rare in Ausralia now, and most local gunsmiths are not familiar with them. I am one of the lucky ones who are licenced to own and use them.

I am quite familiar with Pump Action Winchesters, and expect this to be similiar to my 1200 and 1300s.

Regards

Hi Repeteclay
I am unable to access the Private Message. I have spent two hours mucking about but no matter what I do once I log on and hit Private Messages (and I can see I have one) the website chucks me out and I have to log on again.

Can you direct email me and hide your address?

I have contacted the webmaster about it

Most frustrating

Regards

Keith
