They may be a good idea for training, but if they capture a percentage of the shot in the central core of the wad, that makes for less pellets in the shot string, thus less pellets available to break the bird. I also have my doubts about the ability of a wad, with petals extended, to fly true and straight under all conditions.
Again, maybe a good idea for training, or new shooters to show the corelation between gun, sho, and moving bird, but I wouldn't use them for competition.
I've shot Fiocchi's "Canned Heat" with the "tracer wad" a few times. It's an absolute hoot to quietly drop one of those in while shooting under the lights. Doesn't matter whether you hit the target or not, all you'll hear on the range is "What in the h*ll was that?!?!?"
Great !!!! A mission for Downrange and Whiz White to be able to roll our on loads.. I have lots of 4H shooters that would be a great training aid to start them off and then gradually move to a regular wad. My eyes are not what they use to be.. cant hardly see the shot string anymore to help the youth to get a sight picture..
