I had issues with the new AA hulls. Tried Win and Claybuster 1.0 oz wads. I just bought the DR 12A ? bright red wads from Gamaliel. Yes, they were expensive, as I only bought a small amount to try. I load 17.3 grains of american select or Clays and a win 209 primer. Was not happy with the crimp and I tried all adjustments. I found the DR to be slightly shorter than Claybusters. I finally checked my shot drop. 1 oz mec 502 bar was way low.About 30 pellets of #8 and more if I use reclaimed. I dremeled out the shot hole and now get exactly 1.0094 oz. The crimp issue has been minimized. My best 1.0 oz load is Gun club hull, claybuster 8100-12. win 209, and the same powder charge. I can go to 18.3 grains when I want a little more speed. never a crimp issue. I just have a ton of once fired new AAs so I wanted to try to utilize them . The main issue is the little hole with AA when reloaded- I was adding a dab of silicone II . I tried the recommended adjustments in the mec manual.
