If anyone is in the Chicago area, Cabelas in Hoffman Estates has primers in stock for the 2nd Friday in a row. $5.99 per 100. 500 limit.
My son has picked 1500 of them up for me.

I am glad you were able to find some primers. The price might hurt but you still get to shoot them. Buying targets can only help clubs.
My thoughts exactly. They were about 2.50/100 at Sportsmans' but of course not in stock. I notice the new price at Sportsmans' is between 28 and 30 per K. I enjoy reloading but not enough to lose money over factory shells.
that is ridiculous, I paid 175.00 for 5000 a few weeks ago a Gamaliels in KY then they ran out but I snagged 10,000
but 300.00 for the same 5000 back in August that same amount of Winchester primers was 95.00 for 5000, earlier they had the Cheddites for 125.00 per 5000 and I scooped up 45,000 of them so I have plenty of powder and primers and wads, have about 30 bags of shot and will pick up some next week when I go back up there

Are you doing anything special to store that many primers?
Surprising to see shooter's willing to pay 2X+ currently, when just a few months previous they took pride in saving a few cents/K for eurocrap primers when they could have purchased as many W 209 primers as they wanted. Guess there is always a cost for education.

Same back in November, had 50K W209 on the shelf, along with a bunch of Fiocchis. Good luck now.

The last W209’s I bought were less than $30.00 per thousand shipped to me. I bought 10k then but I wish now I’d bought more. I’m down to about 5k now after using up my old ones and about half of these. They will last longer than any of us ever will if stored correctly.

Why buy anything ahead of schedule? When ya run out, just go and search high and low for something that is sold out in majority of shops, or pay the inflated prices.......or buy what you want when you want and don't worry about it.
Maybe the government should give us an allotment of reloading supplies so we don't buy in bulk.....
There is a shortage because of the election and who is in "power"
