Hello all.
Can I ask if the Remington SPS thumbhole stocks are "all" made of wood and then camo finished ? and also are all the forends composite ? or they all made of wood and then camo finished ? with or without pressed checkering ?
I have a uncheckered SPS wooded camo finished thumbhole stock and would like a suitable wooden camo uncheckered forend to match if possible.
Any information would be great.
Thank you all Phil

The 870 SPS is a super size 870 pump that is made to handle 12 ga shells of 3 1/2 inchs.

While a number of parts are the same for either the standard or the SPS.

the fore end wood is marked as being specific for the SPS.

I would hope that the wood difference is a longer skirt to cover the gap between the forend and action with the slide arm tube length being the same. to find out you would need to try the fit between a SPS forend action slide and a standard 870 forend wood.\

On Numrich Gunparts site they list a plain wood forend, it is a wood finish not camo.

If you have a standard 870 that you can sit side by side with the sps you will see if there is a big differance
