Be sure to save the 2 ends , a new spring is screwed into the spring. There are 2 different springs. The heavier one is for throwing International targets.
Our little black powder club has an old Winchester Western 1524 Trap - we broke a mainspring this summer.
I was all set to order a mainspring assembly, when I thought to contact the local "serious" Trap club. We bought this old machine from them, many years ago.
They had spare parts in storage, and kindly helped us out.
There are a lot of old machines and parts, almost forgotten, around the US and Canada. These were the gold standard of trap machines, for a long time.
