Sandhill Cranes are not legal in Washington state and they are on my bucket list. Do any of you all have a suggestion for a Fall 2021 Sandhill Crane hunt? Thinking that anywhere in the Mountain, Central, or Mississippi Flyway is possible. Please let me know what you think...

I do not think that there is a season for Sandhill Crane in Kentucky. Several years ago, while deer hunting in Western KY, near the Ohio River, a large flock of 50 - 100 birds or more landed near our camp site in an open area. They are a magnificent bird and look to stand over 4' tall or more. Here in Louisville, KY, I often hear their distinctive call as they fly overhead at a mile high or more.

I don’t know if they still do it but Kansas closed Cheyenne Bottoms and Quivera refuge to all waterfowl hunting whenever the Whooping Cranes came through.
