My buddy has a beautiful old SO4 that needs a bit of a rebuild, tighten the action (it has 2 sets of barrels) and sometimes it doesn't fire when trigger pulled, perhaps springs etc.

This gun means a lot to him as he won a National Title with it. He is willing to send it to the USA to the right place, as we have no one here in Australia that specialises in them.

Who should do the job?

If your are in Australia you are going to have alot of problems ezporting & importing a gun to the USA, all up shipping & repairs will exceed the valie of the gun. My sujestion is to contact Ian Mc Geoch Gunsmith ( Au phone # 0408 698 549 Mob 0260 433 563 Workshop.

Likely one spring in the right lockplate is broken if the gun has a non selective trigger and will not fire. Removing the lockplate will confirm. Any highly skilled gunsmith should be able to make a spring. Never seen an SO loose at the breech, though.

you might want to try precision arms in Canada. Steve Milton the owner built barrels for purdy when he was in england he is now Beretta of Canada and Canada Krieghoff service. you can look him up with a web search he's in ontario and he does the best work.

Beretta Aus quoted $10,000 for a full rebuild! The guy is an arse!

I thought perhaps the USA as there's more change of someone heading over there to drop it off and pick it up, than Italy
