As said... Pigeon Grade, (as it would be called if it were a Superposed...) I believe they called them just Grade II or III when made by Miroku... nit sure though. Regardless, I would absolutely JUMP on it for that price.

Looks like oil creep around the forearm iron? Maybe a chip there due to the softened wood?

Not picking it apart...genuinely curious. If that blueing wear and forearm condition is well worth 1700 I may have made a mistake
