Loaded PB and 7625 for eons.

Wasn't loading for lower pressure just a little longer push in the recoil department, and the cleanliness was nice.

Been loading tite group for both singles and caps.

Dabbled in American select for singles and doubles also.

Brad it depends on what you used the 7625 for. My favorite Annie's load was 28 grains of 7625 1 1/4 oz shot in a Fed hull. I have about 3 kegs left and then it's gone forever. I have been experimenting with about 26 grains of 800x with pretty good results
Proreach and Longshot are good games powders but too loud and fast for my liking.
Win Super Handicap is very good if you stick to 1 1/8 oz of shot.

I have also been experimenting with Noble Sport D20 and Noble Sport A1.....some of the cleanest powder I have ever loaded....and mild recoil

Unique is similar to PB
Herco is similar to 7625

I have used Unique for years...good stuff

I have been trying some Winchester super field, in place of 7625. AACF hull, Win 209 primer, 27.5 gr. WSF, AA12-1 1/8oz wad and 1 1/8oz of hard 7's of 6's. Book says 1,310 fps. and 8,700 psi. Or if you like 1 1/4, Fed 209A, 27.0gr. WSF, WAA12F114- 1 1/4oz. wad and 1 1/4oz. 6's,5's or 4's. Book says 1,310fps and 10,700 psi. Bill

You might want to take a look at Winchesters new 572 powder. According to the load data, it will send 1.25 ounces of lead down range at 1330 fps with a CCI 209M primer. They haven't yet published loads with 1-1/8, but dropping weights always lowers pressures. Looks interesting?

I used to use 7625 in 20 and 28 gauge loads, and just getting started with 572 now. Like what I see so far.

Herco powder 23.8 1/8 in AA if your shooting AO or buddy's shoots for a call and 27.5 1/8 #6 windjammer wad in both win 209 prime in both amazing shells light recoil

Lexusclays is right on he money with regard to Win 572! I bought a few pounds and started loading 1275 fps 1 1/4 oz "games" loads and simply love this powder. It propels the shot and wad at good velocities while keeping the obnoxious Longshot blast at bay. I've been doing some informal pattering with this powder with buffered shot and am seeing some promising results. I, for one, am a lot less concerned about the demise of 7625 and 4756 than I was a few months ago.

800X is a great powder, but does not play well in a progressive press, or in a single stage with a baffle.

572 may be the key with a progressive press.
