jon kruger sporting clays champion- we did a flury flush in weston mo. national DU tourney ------------------------------------------------------- his advise to me was- shoot twice as fast and double the lead
No, really I've shot with John Cannon of Cannon Towels, but trapshoooters in include Ray Stafford, Gene Sears, Rudy Etchen, Britt Robinson, Beuford Bailey, Al Tomnitz (deceased), Dean Bright, and others that I can't remember - that happens when you get old!
Ruthie Keim at the 74 Grand, when I lost the Vandalia Handicap shoot-off against her - 1st woman to win a major handicap event I'm told. I did my thing for women's lib, I figured.
I met Robert Stack (sp) and George Peppard & his son Steven here while pheasant hunting in SD.
Also shot with a couple of brothers (who shall remain nameless) whose dad was a mafia guy... they were lots of fun!!!!!
I shot with Robert Stack in a skeet shoot near Bakersfield around 1959. A very pleasant experince for a young dude. I was going through flight school at Castle AFB and when he found out he made a point to introduce me to all the celebreties at the shoot which included Alex Kerr, Judy Allen and Hal Wallis.
I shot against Joe Hiestand when I was a young shooter at a turkey shoot. 8 times in a row I beat him in the shoot offs from under the porch (which was way behind the trapline). I did not have any idea who he was. So I asked an elderly friend of mine. He told me who he was (I had read about him alot). Guess what I never beat him again the rest of the day!!
I shot a round of skeet with Steve Hornady. I shot a lot of skeet and sporting clays with Bob Allen as he was a member of New Pioneer club west of Des Moines. I shot sporting clays with Senator Phil Graham, Ron Shearer of TNN Outdoors, Charlton Heston and Jon Kruger. I shot singles in the championships in 2007 at the Iowa State shoot with a guy named Neil Winston off to my right on the next post. Plus I probably shot with a lot of other of you "famous" trapshooters there.
