Bobcat to the best of my knowledge

Colour looks more cougar than bobcat to me but based on the size seated in those corn cobs in the picture I'd say bobcat.

But with that being said, they caught a cougar(with 4 legs) in Vandalia Illinois recently so they are trecking the country

Ears look like mountain lion. Solid color coat? Bad photo. Young males do a lot traveling.

The depth of field is deceiving. Look at the ear next to right paw for perspective. That cat has no markings and the ears are smooth. A Bob would have more hair. Also smaller limbs. I say its a panther.

Ears don't look round enough to be a cougar. Bobcat ears more pointed.

Cougar top, bobcat bottom. Most Bob ears are pointed like a lynx.

They are moving East since we have built briges over all the rivers. Ca. outlawed Bobcat and Mountain Lion hunting. We are over run with them now. From our local newspaper about a block from my house. Middle of the day in the middle of a city.

not a bobcat in the picture in my opinion. Color markings and ears are not bobcat

It's a bobcat, size compared to corn and bobcat's back of ears have white on like in picture. Cougars don't have white on back of ears. Or have pointy ears.

Was told this was a cougar and was verified by a UK biologist from picture??
I think it is a bobcat and then I look again and am not sure.
The white around the muzzle and the huge front legs makes me wonder.
Only picture I have, central KY and cougars went extinct a long time ago in this state. View attachment 1840994

An ear of corn is roughly 8" or so which appears to be close to the size of that cats head. And a big bobcat would go 40lbs. That cat looks bigger than 40 lbs to me.

The state of Kansas has been denying mountain lion existence in this part of the state for many years, I wouldn’t doubt other states to do the same. Their range is vast and when the population continues to grow in the native territory it’s bound to drive them out. I’m still waiting for my first glimpse at one….

Based on leg size in comparison to surrounding, it is a cougar.
