will a custom fit Wenig stock increase dead targets versus a stock that has been cut to proper length, a good pad adjuster put on that has plenty of adjustment. And a comb that has been properly aligned allowing for correct alignment.

As Mr. Lester wrote, there is more to a well fitting gun than the stock's correct length and its "drop at the heel" dimension, which is often changed by a pad adjuster..

The purpose of a well fitting stock is to allow the shooter to use a correct "shooting form." Shooting form includes the elements of gun mount, stance, body posture, and weight distribution in addition to the posture of the head and neck when shooting.

Combined, a good shooting form not only promotes the eye's remaining in the same place relative to the rib during swings, but can also reduce the recoil felt by the shooter.

The best stock makers critique the form you are using, suggest changes to your form when necessary, and then make a stock with the dimensions, which that will allow you to use the corrected form.
