OT Weatherby Olympian

I am buying a 30" Weatherby Olympian OU with a MonteCarlo stock. Any guys out there currently own one or did, any comments?

I know it was made by Miroku for Weatherby.

Any idea how to check dates of manufacture.

Thanks for th feedback.

I've never owned one so can't tell you much about it but they sure are pretty. A member of our club has one and he shoots it beautifully. congratulations

The Olympian was actually built for Weatherby by Nikko, same manufacturer as the Winchester 101. It is based on the winchester 96 design which has a slightly different ejector system than the 101, I believe. The receiver/barrel flange is different than the 96/101, it is similar to the flange on the later Classic Doubles or Connecticut Valley Classics (both built on the 101 action). The wood is normally highly figured and somewhat lighter (blonde) than the winchester wood.

Here is the exploded view and some notes from Wisner's:

Hey thanks oganza, that is really helpfull, the guy who offered the Weatherby for sale is not responding to my emails to send him a check, guess I will be buying a Winchester Select Energy Trap 32" by Monday if seller remains in seclusion.
