I'm loading AAHS hulls with Winchester 209 primer, 16.0 gr. clay dot, Claybuster AA12SL wad (pink one) and 1 oz. of shot. Can I substitute the AA12 Claybuster 1 1/8 oz. wad (white one) in place of the pink one? I think I'll get better crimps. Thanks, Dale

Yes, no problem. You have a low pressure load to start with, and the WAA12 wad will have similar pressure characteristics as the WAA12SL since they are the same design. Since I rarely shoot more than 1 oz loads, that is how I am using up some 1 1/8 oz wads.

If you're having problems with the crimps not closing...ie not enough room in the shot cup.....it may be that air is trappedunder the shot cup. The crimps will look good....but the wads will float up and open the crimp. The best resolution Ive found is to go to remington hulls. Just a thought.
