My old Technics SA5370 receiver just keeps doing it's job, but the volume control internals must be dirty or something. It doesn't keep the left and right speakers in synch and lots of static when I rotate it. Is the fix to clean it? How?
Go to Radio Shack and get a spray can of contact cleaner/lubricant. Take the cover off the unit and find the back of the volume control and spray the cleaner in there rotate the knob a few times and all should be fine for a while at least. It wouldn't hurt to do the same to all the other rotary controls at the same time either.
