Anyone ever tried to use a vertical grip on the forend for shooting trap?

If so, thoughts on how it performed once you became used to swinging with it?

Vertical grip tends to make you push the gun from the forend instead of driving with the shoulder. (arm shooting) Lots of missed birds.

Also you hand will start to hurt as it is taking a lot of the recoil.

Most shoot with the elbow positioned at about a 90 degree angle. That keeps the gun against the cheek. A pistol grip puts a strain on the wrist with the elbow in that position.
