When practicing doubles setting up on the first target, left or right is obvious; but which target do you choose for the 2nd target?

Here’s an add on question. When using the chart for doubles with an O/U with an inertia set for the second barrel do you try to use snap caps? If so do you try to fire on the first bird or the second?

Since I shoot a Kolar and both barrels go click it's an interesting question; but in your case, I'd use the snap cap for the first shot since it doesn't matter which barrel goes click, first, 'cause you're not gonna get any feedback from your 2nd target, except knowing that you pulled the trigger. My problem with using the chart is that I tend to look at the front bead and stop the gun when the target is acquired. The trick, of course is to keep your vision on the target & not the gun and to continue your swing past the target.
I really think that setting up on the 1st target, doing the pull..bang, and instantly looking at the 2nd target is a great exercise, rather than setting up on the house and making a move to the 1st target.
I think the chart is a great aid, but it can teach you to aim, if you're not paying attention.
