With American unemployment being high, I find it unfathomable that a case can be made to use tax dollars to bring more immigrants in for jobs that Americans
don't want or are unqualifed for.

How about a 'Freeze on Immigration' until upgrades to the economy and job market can be made, and every American has a job?

One, education and job training (with perks for companies willing to implement) for those seeking employment in new areas and

two, upgrade payscale/working conditions for those jobs that American will

want once the undesirable attributes of those jobs* are addressed.

That would be best for achieving this Nation's full productivity and potential.

If the Dream Act is implemented for immigrants, jobs are the least we can do for ourselves, being Americans.

*What are the undesirable attributes of the jobs that Americans don't want? Too little pay after taxes, bad untrained management, inability to communicate with supervisors or other employees because of language barriers (Tower of Babel in the work place), unsafe work conditions? All of these need to be addressed.

In total agreement with you rpeerless. But your suggestions cannot happen under the present radically liberal regime. They need the votes and value the power too much to see the common sense in it. Regime change is needed on all levels and in both parties. ed

Genuine common sense solutions are what we need. You hit the nail on the head. I would venture to say 'rabidly liberal regime'.

Perhaps even a bipolar suicidal 'shoot yourself in the foot' regime.

Our current policy is a total slap to all the ethnic groups that made America great during the early 19th and 20th centuries.

Most came with their belongings in one bag.

There was no food stamps, housing allotment, free medical care, etc.

The churches gave some help.

Some were sponsored and faired a little better.

Shut it down now before all is lost.

As long as the money is flowing into the Parties, there will never be a consideration for the little guys, just further exploitations. Bread and circus for the hapless dung beetles, nothing more.

The country is borrowing $40 of every hundred spent to keep the masses quiet and in the dark. Politics isn't about helping, or insuring liberty any more, it's about POWER, and what privilege it can bring the power brokers.

The only chance the average folk have is voting out every last one of them, and with the two tier welfare classes, that's a long gone proposition. And, we're sandwiched in between them.

It is all about the votes. They are buying their votes. It is a slap in the face to all the people who came through Ellis Island and so forth.

Immigration in the US is based on family unification. Get one here and the rest can come. Jobs, education, ability to earn or contribute is irrelevant. Need to stop that.

How dare you try to stop future Democrats from enjoying the American Dream!

The Democrat Slogan - "Vote for us and we will give you anything you want".
