I received an e-mail today from the ATA today saying the U.S. Open will be held in Sparta, IL.

The dates are September 9-13, 2020.

I thought this was unusual since they just moved the Grand from Illinois to Missouri.

Anyone know why the change of attitude on the part of the state of Illinois in allowing this?

Either the ATA did not consult IL DLNR yet or maybe they figure there will be less than 50 people shooting. :18:

The World Shooting and Recreational Complex at Sparta is currently open for business and has been for a while but has been operating with a limited number of people in a group. At the US Open there are not a lot of activities where people would gather and when shooting you are away from other people. They could spread out the line more if they needed to also.

The Governor lost the law suit.
The State opened back up right after the decision was made to move the Grand.
The ATA couldn't wait any longer than they already had.

    Thanks for the answers gentlemen.

I just hope Pritzker does not win a last-minute appeal and the whole shoot goes into the toilet.

If the World Shooting and Recreational Complex is operated by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and the Director of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources is appointed by and is employed at the pleasure of the Governor, and the governor has, through executive order, limited gatherings to 50 people or less and the US Open is sure to have more than 50 people in attendance why would anybody think this shoot will take place as planned.

Umm..which lawsuit? The Bailey case? The one that is not final and did not include an injunction barring the enforcement of Pritzger's phase four rules?

And who will file the lawsuit to require the ILDNR to allow their facilities to be used for the US Open. Wonder how that one will turn out?

    It's already open!
Call them, maybe they can explain it to you better.
