Does this stuff go bad? I know its not expensive but I have a stock I finished with tru oil - I sold it a few years back and now I own it again. Was wondering if I need to get another bottle or keep getting on with this one - seems like it is fine.

Tru Oil is a good product when used correctly, and it can result in several types of finish, depending on method. The oil develops a crust on top when it's opened and stored. Over time, the drying agents in the bottle will be used up in this process, and drying time will be prolonged, the longer the product is kept and used. Eventually, the drying time will be very long, if it even dries at all.

It's inexpensive. As long as it dries fully and in less than a couple hours, use it. If not, buy another bottle. I keep a large bottle on hand for my stock finishing customers who specify Tru Oil finish

I have used dozens of different finishes and oils. My experience has shown ME
that Tru Oil is the all around BEST gun stock finish at any price. I would
throw away the OLD BOTTLE and spend the 10 bucks for a fresh one. I cut mine
With Japan Dryer.....and NO....when I finish checkering I use an old toothbrush
