Has any one else found trash in their 8 lb. bottles of Clay's Powder. I have found a used primer in the powder that stopped up the powder drop - and I have found various sized lead shot in the powder also - and now last night I found a real fine wire about 1 1/2 inches long in the powder that also messed-up the powder drop. This has been over the last 3 years and about 12 x 8lb bottles of powder, so it is not in every bottle - just a few taht I know about. Any one else have any ideas about this situation?? the beav

Dr. Beav -

I'd bet the shot and primer was introduced by the end user, as I doubt that wherever the Clays is bottled they have either shot or primers in the same location.

Did you find the shot and primer in the powder jug, or did you find it in the drop tube?

I have also used clays for the last 5 years or so and never seen this problem.

I too had initially thought that it got into the powder on my end of the transaction - except that I did not recognize the brand of primer, and it sure was not one of the Remingtons or Winchesters that I was using - and the shot was not my #8 sized shot, and the wire is sure nothing I would ever have around here - it really looked like a piece of wire that comes off of a threading machine when you are making threads. I don't know, I just do not think the foreign matter got into the powder on my loading bench -- kind'a a funny deal!! the beav

"Honey, I know how expensive that powder stuff of yours is, so I swept under the bench and put it back into the bottle for you"

That happened to me once.
