Hello:
I was on ebay, typed in Trapshooting, and D. Lee Braun's instructional book is for sale on "Buy it now" for $15.00. In my opinion this is the best instructional book on trapshooting that I ever read. I highly recommend this book especially for newer shooters. He has a camera mounted on a gun showing you the exact leads you need to smoke a target. I have given this book to numerous new shooters over the years and they all said after reading his book, that their averages went up. Best money you will ever spend.

Smoke: You are "dead on" on this subject.

I was lucky to runacross this 16mm movie when I first started shooting in 1974. I attribute my success in the sport to this video. I have always directed new shooters watch is several times.

I saw the tape myself. Was wondering if they were using trick photography when they would smoke a target. I have never seen targets hit so hard. After reading that book I went from an average of 81 to 89 on 16 yard targets. Seeing the leads for me, meant a big difference.

Those targets... hence the term "smoked".

Remington back in the mid-to-late 70's made targets like that. I remember breaking my first 200 shooting at some like that in NE. Not QUITE as black, but damn close.

I've had the skeet and trapshooting books for years. The stories and the history of trapshooting are a good read, not to mention some of the best basic instructions for beginners. The video is on DVD through the ATA HOF for a $25.00 donation. If I remember correctly, D.Lee says in the beginning of the video, they are using a special smoking clay target to show up better on film. If the book still has the pull-out diagrams in the back, it's worth every penny of $15.00.

The book does come with the special pull out feature. I was unaware that the targets used in the video were a special type. I wish I could hit targets the way they did in the video.
