Had a few shells out of the last 200 with splits like this, too much pressure?

WinAA hulls
CB1118-12 wads
Win 209 primers
21.5gr Green Dot

This was the worse of the group....

Old plastic. They split like that occasionally 40 years ago when new!!

I think oleolliodawg has the answer (age), that pic looks like the old style black AA hull. Ross Puls

If that is an old black handicap hull, as others have said in they done then when they were produced in the 70's. It was the dye that was used. Thus they went to their orange hull with silver lettering for their handicap load. But America wasn't ready for the concept yet.

Shucks I'd reload all my shells till they split like that back in he eightys , think I still have some in a little better condition now tho. Even had the petals blow off from reloading to many times I used to get my monies worth out of my shells. Ah the old days Gary

Those black handicap shells were of a poor grade of plastic. They split easily when new. About 2 reloads.
