Do you have a RCBS bullet puller collet that you can check the thread size & measure the length and diameter?

I have an old RCBS case trimmer and am wondering if the bullet puller collets are the same size and use the same threads (3/8-16) as the case trimmer collets? If they do I am thinking I can use a bullet puller collet, in the trimmer body, to hollowpoint some cast "boolits". Apparently "boolits" is the accepted spelling in the cast bullet community.

Just measured one...3/8-16 thread, .556 dia. X 1.887 long

This just might work. A trimmer collet is .556 dia and is 1.870 long.

I have a .330 AAC Blackout upper, and a Lee TL309-230-5R 30 Caliber mold on the way. I am thinking about powder coating the bullets, that is the reason for the hollow point so I can stand them on pins to do the coating and baking. My idea is to chuck the bullets in the collet and use a center drill in place of the cutter.

Should work. The minor difference in length shouldn't matter.
