For 4 years a HS trap shooter on our team used his Christmas present from his parents .
Coaching him, there was no way to discourage him from using the gift from mom and dad.
A very talented shooter using bad equipment.
I tried to push him into the proper equipment with no success. I even offered one of my older trap guns .
That condor had a 10/90 POI and the triggers broke 2 times in 4 years . He stuck with it and did not like any raised comb to improve it.
He averaged 47/50 with it shooting 10/90 and several 50/50 wins.
At one of our shoots there was a very strong tail wind with very low targets. He went 50/50 on the 16s and 175 straight to win the 16s with 5 other shooters in the shoot off.
I always will wonder how good he could have been with the correct equipment. He is now a proud US Marine .
