After getting a new custom stocked singles/handicap gun last year, I found the stock on my old Browning doubles gun to be very uncomfortable. The scores were there, but I felt like I was fighting the gun the whole way - it just did not have the right feel anymore. Not knowing exactly what to do, or how much to spend, but wanting to try something, I ordered a machine inletted stock from Wenig. As this was going to test my meager fitting skills and not at all sure if it is going to do what I want it to, I did not want to go for the hi-grade wood. But I did not want plain jane either. So I got a laminated birch stock in red, white, and blue.
After the stock came, my wife was unusually quiet about it. She normally makes some sort of comment but not this time. But I set to work on it and when the butt was just about fitted, I remarked that she had not said anything about it. She was silent, so I pressed her and she blurted out "you're gonna make look like a Clown Gun".
so it was christened that day - the Clown Gun. Well, I finished it tonite and here it is
- I screwed up those photos - please drop down a couple of posts - I got it right there
