After getting a new custom stocked singles/handicap gun last year, I found the stock on my old Browning doubles gun to be very uncomfortable. The scores were there, but I felt like I was fighting the gun the whole way - it just did not have the right feel anymore. Not knowing exactly what to do, or how much to spend, but wanting to try something, I ordered a machine inletted stock from Wenig. As this was going to test my meager fitting skills and not at all sure if it is going to do what I want it to, I did not want to go for the hi-grade wood. But I did not want plain jane either. So I got a laminated birch stock in red, white, and blue.

After the stock came, my wife was unusually quiet about it. She normally makes some sort of comment but not this time. But I set to work on it and when the butt was just about fitted, I remarked that she had not said anything about it. She was silent, so I pressed her and she blurted out "you're gonna make look like a Clown Gun".

so it was christened that day - the Clown Gun. Well, I finished it tonite and here it is

- I screwed up those photos - please drop down a couple of posts - I got it right there

One of the best looking guns I've ever seen. Now if it breaks the birds and feels good you will be all set. HMB

I thought a clown gun was one of Biden's shotguns.

A one of a kind for sure...used to seeing those laminated stocks on rifles, sure looks different on a shotgun.
Very unusual but very nice looking, very clean.
Nice work.

Nice. Some would even consider it patriotic. Perhaps we should all have clown guns. Of course, if you walk on the field with that bling then you better shoot like a AAA ;-)

Tell the Misses that if it was indeed turned into a true clown gun then it would shoot out a rod that would roll out a flag with a nice "BANG!" printed on it in bold letters.

Crack em up Gary.

Tell your wife to sew you a clown suit and buy one of those clip on red noses...you will be good to go!

Kidding aside...it is a great looking stock!

Better wathch out for low riders. With all that color they will love it. Looks great, nice to see something flashy.

I have 3 laminated shotguns, Ljutic mono, Browning Trap Special, and Remington 1100. I think laminated is the only way to go. It's priced right, dense, and makes a perfect gun stock. I also have the red, white, and blue stock but haven't decided which gun to put it on. I'll try to post pictures tomorrow.

I like it,

FlaLagarto where did you get those flames? I want some to match the True Fire flames on my Harley.

This thread has me thinking about my TM1 that needs stock help, clown colors or a varriant would be good.
