Definitely God Bless them all. a friend of mind sent me this quote from a flyer
that were being handed out at there early " V.A. Day parade.
A Veteran-whether Active Duty-Reserve or Retired, is someone who at one point in there life wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America" for and amount of "up to and including my Life." author unknown!
It seems to many forget this day. Read the other day where they had a Veterans Day parade in Detroit and barely anyone showed up. Sometimes you get the feeling that the general public dosen't care about Vets anymore except when reminded on Nov. 11.
I volunteer at the local Vets home on Sat & Sun. It is really sad when I go and one of them has passed. I really get attached to some of them. I know where they want to sit, what they want to eat and where their rooms are. Today I went to visit and one of the guys ( Gene) was gone. I need to go more often
Words cannot express my admiration and appreciation for the veterans. My Father, deceased, was a WWII veteran who fought (BAR infantry man) in the Phillipines and would never say much about his experiences in the war of which I respected. Afer he died I kinda wished he had said more. Our lives are touched and the country was made great by veterans. Thank you. Darrell
Like you, I would do it all again in a heartbeat. If I could, I would put the uniform back on again and serve again today with my comrades in the Army, Navy, and Air Force, whether in Afghanistan or any where else we might be needed. Those who are defending our beloved country today are the greatest people in the world.
