Don thanks for the update, happy to see all is going well.We just wrapped up our Texas State Shoot and I would like to make a few observations .........
The Amarillo Gun Club, led by Donald Adams and J Pat Richmond assembled, trained and led a fantastic staff. The clubhouse and grounds were in very nice shape. The cashiering staff led by Sandra McAllister were the expected efficient, accurate and timely group.
We were very fortunate to have Steve Fuller come and be the trap mechanic and the Texas Trapshooters Association target setters (Billy Hopson, Billy McFarland & Jeff Renegar) did an incredible job. The use of radios made swift and efficient communication possible, thereby minimizing downtime. I got many positive comments on how good the target presentation was.
The state association meeting was held on Sunday, July 4. It is humbling to lead a fantastic State Association and represent the shooters of Texas. We recognized the 500X500 squad (the first at the Texas State Shoot), recognized Patrick Hopson for his 500 X 500 singles targets for the week (also a first), seated next years officers as below and inducted Bob Johnson of Wichita Falls into the Texas Trap Shooters Hall of Fame (Link to YouTube video below). Forrest Dermid completed another year as our state Secretary/Treasurer in his usual professional manner.
The officers for next year are:
President - Billy Hopson
1st Vice-President - Richard Leos
2ns Vice President - Babette Cade
Secretary/Treasurer - Forrest Dermid
Delegate - Jerry O'Connor
Alternate Delegate - Billy Hopson
2nd Alternate Delegate - Ronny Beard
