    Best way of removing sticky tape marks off stock please

    Mineral Spirits or paint thinner, either one will do it with no damage to finish.

    I used Goof Off to wipe a stain off my camper. It took the clear coat off. I dont see me using it on my gun stocks.

    Lighter fluid works well and won't damage the stock - assuming you don't light it.

    WD40 !!!!
    Put it on ...leave it set for a few seconds.....wipe it off...repeat if necessary....

    I've been using it for 20+ years and NO DAMAGE to hundreds of finishes...

    Some other remedies mentioned here might harm the finish......merlyn

    About the only useful purpose of WD 40 because it is a dirt magnet.

    Common thing about all suggested items they are all petroleum distillate products. It’s all the same stuff.

    Have you tried alchohol or fast orange?
