Bill,

I'm not left handed...if I were, I'd buy the first Ljutic Mono I could find!

You are correct though, this is incredible beautifully grained English Walnut that is getting hard to find at any price. The workmanship is superb...I love the ribboned checkering. By the way, the forearm is extra long and the LOP is approximately 15" A BIG LEFTIE with a Ljutic Mono is really going to get lucky with this stock set. Replacement value in today's market would be well over $5,000.

When I go out to shoot --- it's typically with a Bowen for singles and handicap and a K-80 Parcours Special grade for doubles -- also use the K-80 for Skeet with an extra 20ga set of barrels.

FYI -- I went thru the Ljutic stage a long time ago and owned at least one version of everything they've made except for the Banana Gun (I was at least to smart to buy one of those) -- that includes several different Space Guns (one even had a scope), a couple with Olympic Ribs, a regular Mono Gun, an X73, and my favorite the LTX which I thought was the best gun they made but they didn't shoot high enough and they kicked like a mule --- almost forgot I did have an O/U for awhile but I just got that so I could trade it to a Ljutic nut for a like-new SCO-Gold Grade Perazzi Live-Bird Gun with 2 barrels and an extra trigger.

Woops -- I also owned, briefly, one of the Ljutic semi-autos. It had a perfect record of ejecting the spent case at least 20 feet, usually toware the most expensive gun in the area, and rarely, if ever, feeding the 2nd round. It was a hard kicking SOB.

So with respect to Ljutic's -- I've been there - done that - and got the t-shirt to prove it.

Joe -- that is really a nice set of wood but I already have one just about that nice on my Parcours Special now -- can't believe someone hasn't snapped up that nice chunk of wood.

And, I'm not really "down" on Ljutic's all that much. Ljutic was a genius in his time and his guns had a tremendous impact on trapshooters - including me - at the time.

Bill,

I've had this Hillmer stock set for a while now...bought a Krieghoff Model 32 to mount it on, but the wood was just too nice and I enjoyed shooting the Model 32 too much. Then I decided to buy a Model 32 San Remo for the stock set...got it home and thought to myself, I won't shoot this it's just too pretty! So I sold the San Remo and the stock set is sitting in the safe.

moral of the story:

This is not a profession...it's a hobby and I just hope my wife doesn't sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them...
